After the Supreme Court ruled against Texas, Governor Abbott issued a statement declaring an invasion and invoking Texas's constitutional right to repel a foreign invasion. Within 24 hours, several GOP governors issued their public support and activated units to assist Texas.

The Biden Administration gave an ultimatum giving Texas 24 hours to comply.
