The End of the World

Apocalyptic talk is all the rage today, even more than it normally is.

"Who could be the antichrist?"

"Is World War III around the corner?"

The mainstream of American Christianity is apocalyptic. That has been true our entire lifetimes. It remains true today, though things seem to be changing.

As people question the End Times obsessiveness, and historical alternatives begin to have purchase, the question always comes up, "what about the Book of Revelation? What is that about?"

Ron Dodson and I have begun to explore this book and plan to do so over the next several months.

In the first episode we start to set the groundwork of what this book is, how biblical exegesis has continued to develop over time, and how in order to approach this book you have to have an extremely well-developed understanding of the entire Bible before you can begin to make sense of anything in it.
